A major inspection on a truck-mounted Elevated Work Platform (EWP) is far more involved than a routine service.
These inspections are typically required around the 10-year mark, but the process itself is what ensures the machine remains safe, compliant and ready for continued use.
During a major inspection, the machine is stripped back to allow full access to critical components. This includes structural elements, hydraulic systems and key mechanical parts.
Each component is carefully assessed for:
- wear and fatigue
- structural integrity
- hydraulic performance
- compliance with Australian Standards
Where required, parts are repaired or replaced before the machine is reassembled and tested.
Truck-mounted EWPs in particular require a detailed, hands-on approach due to their complexity and the environments they operate in.
No two inspections are ever identical and each one requires a methodical process to ensure nothing is missed.
At EWP Systems, the focus is simple, do the job properly, ensure compliance and return the machine ready for safe operation.
