Not all issues found during an EWP inspection are obvious at first glance.
Some can be minor, while others are enough to make the machine unsafe to operate immediately.
One of the more serious problems we come across is structural cracking.

In the image above, a crack has formed in the boom section of the machine. While it may appear small, this type of damage can compromise the structural integrity of the EWP and is enough to take it out of service.
During a major inspection, components are carefully assessed for signs of:
- cracking or fatigue
- excessive wear
- hydraulic leaks
- damage to critical structural areas
Structural issues in particular are taken seriously, as they directly impact the safety of operators and those working around the machine.
Truck-mounted EWPs often operate in demanding environments, which can contribute to wear over time. Identifying these issues early helps prevent more serious failures and unexpected downtime.
This is why regular inspections are important, not just for compliance, but for safety and reliability on site.
